Jeff, here's the info. 1. Set tap on power transformer to a voltage slightly higher than line voltage. My line is 124 volts so I use 130 volt tap. 2. Replace 5R4G rectifier with indirectly heated 5V4-G. This eliminates voltage surge which is hard on capacitors. 3. Replace 6BA6 first rf amplifier (V-1) with 6BZ6 for improved weak signal reception on higher frequencies. 4. Throw away plated tube shields. Use black heat-sink shield on 6BZ6. Other tubes don't need shields, which only make them run hotter. That's all there is to it. 73 Bill
